Put your English skills to the test and stand a chance to be recognized on a global scale!
The KGL Contest English Olympiad is your opportunity to shine. Here’s what you need to know.
1. Registration and Rules
Before you dive in, make sure to read the Rules and Regulations of the KGL Contest carefully (link). When registering, remember you must select the level that corresponds to your current English proficiency. Failure to register at the appropriate level will result in disqualification. Test your current level with the help of our online practice tests available here (this link)
2. Stage 1
In Stage 1, you’ll tackle multiple-choice questions. Depending on your level, you’ll have either 45 or 60 minutes to complete the test. Your KGL Country Partner will inform you of the venue and timing for Stage 1. Expect the results for Stage 1 to be issued approximately within a month of the test.
3. Stage 2
Stage 2 is a more comprehensive challenge. It includes multiple-choice, listening, reading, and writing. The duration of Stage 2 varies based on your level, ranging from 60 to 90 minutes.
4. Selection of Global Event Finalists
The top performers – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place contestants, along with commended participants, will be announced after Stage 2.
Stage 2 first place finalists at levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 must take an online level verification test to confirm their level and results. This verification test will be conducted and monitored by ITA-KGL.
5. Qualifying for the Global Event
Eligible verified finalists who have finalized their travel arrangements, (including obtaining a visa if necessary) and have informed us of this by 12:00 noon GMT on September 2, 2024, will receive final confirmation of their participation at the Global Event.
